This week in 2 Samuel 12 we are confronted by the harsh consequences of our mistakes and the need for them to be brought out into the open as we see Davids’s adultery and murder exposed by God’s prophet. These mistakes have massive repercussions for David, his family and even the nation of Israel.But even more stunning is the scandalous mercy that God shows to David. This is a mercy that gives us hope that despite the things we may have done, we are not beyond God’s forgiveness.
